Plain-English definitions for the terminology used across Coach's Corner.
- Accumulator
- An Accumulator combines multiple selections into one wager, and all of them must win for you to get a payout.
- Asian Handicap
- Asian Handicap gives a virtual advantage or disadvantage to a team to balance the match for betting purposes.
- Bankroll
- Bankroll is the total money you have set aside for betting.
- Bookmaker
- A Bookmaker is a company that sets odds and accepts bets on sporting events.
- Both Teams to Score
- Both Teams to Score is a bet on whether both sides will find the net at least once during the match.
- Cashout
- Cashout lets you settle a bet early, locking in a profit or cutting a loss before the match ends.
- Clean Sheet
- Clean Sheet is a bet on whether a team will finish the match without conceding any goals.
- Correct Score
- Correct Score is a bet on the exact final score of a match.
- Decimal Odds
- Decimal Odds show the total amount you receive for each unit wagered, including your original stake.
- First Goalscorer
- First Goalscorer is a bet on which player will score the opening goal of the match.
- Fractional Odds
- Fractional Odds display the profit you earn relative to your stake, shown as a fraction.
- Group Winner
- Group Winner is a bet on which team will finish top of its group in the tournament.
- In-Play Betting
- In-Play Betting allows you to place or change bets while the match is already underway.
- Juice
- Juice is the commission a bookmaker charges, usually built into the odds, to ensure a profit.
- Match Odds
- Match Odds tells you how much you can win if you pick the correct outcome of a game — win, draw, or loss.
- Moneyline
- Moneyline is a simple bet on which team will win the match, with odds reflecting each team's chance.
- Outright Bet
- Outright Bet is a wager on the overall winner of a tournament or competition.
- Over/Under
- Over/Under lets you bet that the total number of goals in a match will be either higher or lower than a set line.
- Payout
- Payout is the total money you receive when a bet wins, including your original stake.
- Spread
- Spread is the range of outcomes used to balance betting action on a specific market.
- Stake
- Stake is the amount of money you risk on a bet.
- Top Scorer
- Top Scorer is a bet on which player will score the most goals throughout the tournament.
- Value Bet
- A Value Bet occurs when the odds offered are higher than the true probability suggests, giving you an edge.
- Wagering Requirement
- Wagering Requirement is the amount you must bet before you can withdraw bonus funds.
